What is NDT ?
What is NDT
By definition, non-destructive testing (NDT) is the collective name given to a repeatable
process applied to components or structures to inspect their integrity, in such a way as to
not impair their ability to operate or perform.
The 2 equipment Methods we as a company deal with are,
A)
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
B)
Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPT) or Dye Pen Inspection (DPI)
What is Magnetic Particle Inspection?
Magnetic Particle Inspection method is based on the principle of using a ferromagnetic
component (material that can be magnetised) for the detection of linear, surface and near
surface discontinuities by applying magnetic particles to find invisible defects, without
harming the part in any way.
MPI
DPI
What is Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) or Dye Pen Inspection (DPI)?
A non-destructive test method which provides for the detection of surface discontinuities
(flaws) in ferrous and non-ferrous test materials.
